Canada's athletic squad has the pace to trouble opponents but, as is the case with all three co-hosts, a lack of competitive action is a concern, as are injury issues. Jesse Marsch was hired in May 2024 with a brief to take the Canadians into the knockout rounds. If his key players are fit, there is no reason why the Canucks can't at least qualify third in Group B. A flurry of red cards over the last year shows Canada's discipline needs to improve, as going a man down against either Bosnia or Switzerland will most likely cost them. Like in Qatar, Canada are expected to play their best football in the opening quarter of games but need to be more clinical. They can qualify, but the round of 32 could prove their ceiling.
